Rino’s Fury to Host Opening Round Provincial Cup Match

Rino’s Fury have qualified for a second consecutive appearance in the Keith Millar Provincial B Cup, and once again have drawn opposition from the Vancouver Metro Soccer League. After bowing out in a penalty shootout to Sarajevo FC last season, the boys will be hoping for better luck as they host Vancouver-based rivals Bombastic SC. The match will take place 2pm, Sunday April 6 at Point Grey Secondary with the winners advancing to face Europa FC of the Burnaby Metro Soccer League. Come on out and support the team!

Rino’s supporters were treated to 240 minutes of non-stop action this past Sunday as the fighting spirit of both Rino’s Fury and U-21 squads produced a pair of thrilling extra time affairs in the BCSA Provincial Cup.

Two Rino’s Squads Set for Provincial Cup Kickoff This Sunday

Rino’s U-21 team have known for months that they would have a spot in this year’s BC Soccer Provincial Cup tournament. The early acknowledgment came as a result of a diminished FVSL division which fielded only 4 teams for the 2012/13 season, opening up extra spots for the competitive VMSL teams. On a summer-like Sunday afternoon, the hottest place in Vancouver was the back of Langley’s net as Rino’s young squad scorched the United keeper for 9 goals and matched their largest margin of victory this season. Rino’s Vancouver SC Under-21 team staged a heroic 2nd half comeback on Sunday to upend the reigning VMSL League and Cup Champions, West Van FC on the strength of a hat-trick by Bezhar Mauloud.
